From as far west as Spring Valley Road, from as far east as Madison,
down to Jockey Hollow, down through Morris Township, through Madison, past Chatham Township…

This is the Loantaka Brook Reservation, before we began our cleanup. A woody vine called multiflora rosa (Rosa multiflora) has
overrun the area, with enough power to strangle the mature trees and to suppress the growth of any new ones.
The species was introduced to be an ornamental plant and a “living fence.”

We did not foresee that it would choke out the biological diversity of the area.
